Tara Moore had actually been acquitted of doping allegations. But the Tennis Integrity Agency stepped in – with bitter consequences for the player.
Tennis professional Tara Moore has been closed for four years for doping. The International Sports Court of CAS announced this on Tuesday evening. The committee thus revises an earlier decision that Moore had relieved. The lock begins retrospectively on July 15th. Already served blocking times are counted.
In January 2023 the case was found by the Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA). Moore had given a positive test on the forbidden substances Boldenon and Nandrolon at the WTA tournament in Bogotá in April 2022. She explained that the fabrics came into her body by consuming contaminated meat.
An independent tribunal followed this argument. Moore was acquitted in December 2023. But the ITIA brought the case to the CAS in January 2024. The demand: the four -year lock.
After examining the evidence, the majority of the CAS committee came to the conclusion that Moore was “not successful” that the Nandrolon found was caused by contaminated meat. The original decision by the independent tribunal was revised.
Karan Moorhouse, CEO of ITIA, said: “Our bar for an appointment against a first instance decision is high, and the decision is not taken lightly.” Moore had “not adequately explained” the high concentration of Nandrolon in the rehearsal.
