Donald Trump did not exactly do a great job to react to the criticism of the Ministry of Justice’s memo last week. This has announced that Jeffrey Epstein killed himself and there is no top -class “customer list”. The president started a reporter who asked him to the memo. And then published a bizarre Tirade on Truth Social, in which he claimed that Barack Obama had “written” the so-called Epstein files. Everyone should stop concentrating on the convicted sex offender and presumed human dealers, whose connections the government have been unveilable for a long time.
Close relationship between Trump and Epstein?
Both conservative influencers and civil servants of the Ministry of Justice were outraged by the memo. Many suspected a cover -up. And that Trump could appear in the Epstein files himself. Elon Musk, former advisor to the White House and Trump confidante, expressed this suspicion as part of a dispute with Trump last month. “Time to burst the really big bomb: @Raldonaldtrump is in the Epstein files,” he wrote to X. “That is the real reason why they were not published. A nice day, DJT!”
Trump seemed to have been friends with Epstein at least temporarily. There are photos of both. Video recordings show together at parties in the 1990s. Epstein is said to have said in 2017 that Trump was his “closest friend”.
Trump has also often publicly commented on Epstein. Praised him on the one hand. But later insulted. And conspiracy theories scattered for his death. Now he apparently wants the Maga base, which has long pushed to publish the Epstein files, simply forgets the matter.
Here is a brief overview of Trump’s statements about Epstein:
Trump calls Epstein a “great” guy who loves young beautiful women
Trump praised in an article by the New York Magazine in 2002. And also mentioned his preference for young women.
“I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Great guy,” said Trump. “He is really entertaining. It is even said that he loves beautiful women as much as I do. Many of them are rather young. No doubt. Jeffrey enjoys his social life.”
Trump distances himself later – but the impression remains.
Trump says he is “not a fan” of Epstein
At a press conference in July 2019, Trump was asked if he had disputed with Epstein and whether he had banished him from Mar-A-Lago.
“Yes. And we actually had an argument a long time ago. The reason is not a matter of playing, honestly. But I have probably not spoken to him for 15 years or more. I was not a big fan of Jeffrey Epstein. I can tell you that.”
A reporter then asked if Trump had “suspected that he … misused underage women”.
“No, I had no idea,” said Trump. “I had no idea. I haven’t spoken to him for many years.”
He continued: “I was not a fan of Jeffrey Epstein. And you saw yesterday, as people said I had thrown him out of a club. I didn’t want to have anything to do with him. That was many years ago. That shows you one thing. I have a good taste. Okay? Other people, however, went with him everywhere. They were on his island.” They were everywhere. “
“He was very well known in Palm Beach. His island-whatever this island was, wherever she is-I was never there. Find out who was on this island. But Jeffrey Epstein was not a person I respected. I threw him out. In fact, I think the great James Patterson, who is a member of Mar-A-Lago, made it a statement yesterday.”
Trump spreads conspiracy theories over Bill Clinton and Epstein
During his first campaign in 2015, Trump was asked about ex-President Bill Clinton. “Nice guy,” he said. “But I think he gets a lot of problems because of the famous island of Jeffrey Epstein.”
In August 2019, shortly after Epstein’s death, Trump shared a tweet in which Suggen was that Clinton killed Epstein. “#Jeffernyepstein had information about Bill Clinton & now he is dead. I see #trumpbodycount is trendy. But we know who it was! RT if you are not surprised,” wrote the conservative comedian Terrence K. Williams in the tweet that Trump shared.
“Yes, he is a very respected, conservative commentator. He is a big Trump fan. It was a retweet. That didn’t come from me. That was from him,” Trump later said to reporters in New Jersey.
A reporter asked whether it was “appropriate” to spread such a conspiracy theory.
“Basically we say: We want an investigation,” replied Trump. “I want a complete investigation. And that’s exactly what I demand.”
A reporter hooked again.
“I have no idea. I know that he was on his plane 27 times. And he said he only flown four times. And then you have to ask: Was Bill Clinton on the island? Because Epstein had an island that was not a good place as far as I know. And I never was there. So you have to ask: Was Bill Clinton on the island?
Documents that were published at about the same time showed that Clinton was traveling with Epstein’s aircraft that were related to the Clinton Foundation and paid speeches. The documents also showed that Trump flown with Epstein’s aircraft at least once.
Trump says at Tucker Carlson that he was not sure whether Epstein killed himself
In 2020, after Ghislaine Maxwell was charged with recruitment and manipulation of minors, Trump spoke in an interview with “Axios on HBO” about Maxwell and his doubts about Epstein’s death.
“Your friend had either been killed or killed herself in prison,” said Trump to reporter Jonathan Swan. “She is now in prison. Yes, I wish her all the best. I wish you all the best. I wish you all the best. Good luck. Should you prove that someone is guilty.”
“So you say you hope that you don’t die in prison?” asked Swan. “Is that what you mean by ‘all the best’?”
“Your friend died in prison. And people are still trying to find out how it happened,” said Trump. “Was it suicide? Was he killed? And I wish her all the best. I don’t want her anything bad.”
In 2023, Tucker Carlson Trump asked whether it was possible that Epstein was murdered.
“I don’t know,” said Trump. “I can only say that he was a well -known name in Palm Beach.”
Carlson asked again later.
“Oh, sure that is possible. I don’t really think – I think he probably killed himself,” said Trump. “He had a life with beautiful houses. And then he was suddenly locked up. And it didn’t go well. I would say he did it. But there are people, many people. I think they are also part of it, right, but many people think that he was killed. He knew a lot of people.”
Carlson then confirmed that he believed that Epstein was “killed”.
Trump hesitates to make a publication of the Epstein files
During an interview with Fox News 2024, Trump hesitated whether he would declare the Epstein files.
Rachel Campos-Duffy, the wife of Transport Minister Sean Duffy, first asked Trump whether he would declare the 9/11 files if he became president.
“Yes,” said Trump without hesitation.
“Would you declare the JFK files?” asked Campos-Duffy.
“Yes,” said Trump again without hesitation.
“Would you declare the Epstein files?”
Trump took a short break. “Yes,” he said. “Yes, I would. I think. But I think less because you don’t want to influence people’s lives when it comes to invented things. And there are a lot of invented stuff in this whole world. But I think I would do it.”
“Do you think that would restore trust?” asked Campos-Duffy.
“Yes, I don’t know as much about Epstein as about the others,” said Trump. “Certainly as far as his death is concerned, it would be interesting to find out what happened there. Because that was a strange situation and the cameras did not happen by chance. And so on, and further. But yes, I would go far.”
“Fox News” seemed to know that Trump’s answer did not look good, because the segment ended after he first said “yes, I”. And cut out the part in which he continued. Trump’s official “War Room” account on X also only published the edited clip last year.
Trump starts a reporter who asked him about the Doj-Memo last week
During a cabinet meeting last Tuesday, a reporter Pam Bondi asked a question about the Doj-Memo. Trump interrupted. “Talk about Jeffrey Epstein? This guy has been talking about this guy for years,” he said incredulously. “You ask … we have Texas, we have this, we have all of this. And people still talk about this type, this opposite? This is unbelievable. I can’t believe that in such a moment they ask a question about Epstein, where we are experiencing great success and also tragedies with what happened in Texas. That seems to me to be departed.”
Trump – who posted articles about the deportation of Rosie O’Donnell last week and supposedly wants to have won a golf tournament – is known to be not very notorious to concentrate on the most urgent world problems.
Trump posts Wilde Tirade, in which he accused Barack Obama of writing the Epstein files
The DOJ’s Epstein memo is said to have led to tensions within the authorities. FBI director Kash Patel and Vice Director Dan Bongino teamed with Bondi. Bongino flipped the work in protest on Friday. According to reports, he even thought about giving up his position entirely. Trump tried to calm the situation on Saturday. “What’s going on with my ‘boys’ and in some cases ‘girls’?” he wrote on Truth Social. Apparently, alluding to members of his government who were in the clinch because of the memos. Then he claimed that the Epstein files were written by Barack Obama and others.
“For years it has been about Epstein. WHY again. The President.
“You created the Epstein files. Just like you created the wrong Hillary-Clinton/Christopher Steele dossier that they used against me. And now my so-called ‘friends’ play in your hands,” he continued. “Why didn’t these radical links be wrong with the Epstein files? If there was anything in it that had harmed the Maga movement-why didn’t you use it? You didn’t even give up the files on John F. Kennedy or Martin Luther King Jr.
Okay, well!
