The chapter FC Bayern is likely to end for Nestory Irankunda. In the meantime, the 19 -year -old wing striker has arrived in England and asked the questions of a reporter there. The Australian will shortly sign a contract with second division club FC Watford near London. As a transfer fee for Bayern, 3 million euros are in the room. In addition, the record champions should be involved in a future transfer with 50 percent.

He was very grateful that this option was given to him, Irankunda said in a video published by “Sky Sports” in England at Heathrow Airport. When asked whether the Bayern party was difficult for him, the Australian initially laughed briefly. Then he said in a serious tone: “Yes, it was a really tough decision.” However, his biggest goal is to participate in the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada. The Australian selection is already qualified for the tournament. Irankunda had contributed to this with a goal and an assist in five qualification games. At FC Bayern, he did not make a single professional service.

After 15 regional league games for the second Bayern team, Irankunda spent the last season in loan in Zurich. There were regular missions in the Grasshopper Club. In 21 competitive games, Irankunda came up with a goal and three assists. He only had conversations with the Munich responsible before going to Switzerland, no longer after returning. “This is part of football,” said the young professional. Nevertheless, he was grateful for the possibility that he was given – explicitly also for training with Harry Kane.

In his time in Europe, Irankunda’s market value did not make the expected leap up. With an assessment of over 1.8 million euros-at that time already strongly influenced by the Bayern change that had been established early-he had still played in the A-League. In Munich, however, it only went up to EUR 3 million. The loan to Zurich brought a further increase of one million to EUR 4 million.
