The future of central defender Paul Jaeckel has been clarified. The defender will not go into the new season with Eintracht Braunschweig. Instead with a league competitor.
Until the end, Eintracht Braunschweig had hoped for a further commitment of loan Paul Jaeckel. But that is now off the table. As Jaeckel’s regular association Union Berlin announced on Tuesday, the 26-year-old changes to second division club Prussia Münster. Both clubs did not provide any information about the transfer modalities.
Ole Kittner, Managing Director Sport at Prussia Münster, is convinced of the obligation. “For us, Paul is a very good personnel in central defense because he connects many characteristics: he feels comfortable with the ball on the foot and has a good game structure, but also brings the necessary duel hardness and header strength,” he says.
With 49 Bundesliga, 90 second division and three games in the Champions League and three games in the Europa League, Jaeckel has a lot of experience. “We are pleased that he chose us,” said Kittner.
Last season, Jaeckel had played on loan for Eintracht Braunschweig. There he was used in 25 competitive games and had contributed a goal and two templates. Now the second division competition continues.
“Those responsible have made a lot of effort into the team from day one on which the contact was created and showed me in open and honest conversations,” says Jaeckel about his new task. “The environment is currently being created here, the city is worth living. These are things that are important to me,” the defender continued. “I like to have my heart and wants to take responsibility on the pitch. I want to go ahead, bring my experiences to the team and go with the boys.”
