According to the police, the car drove remarkably slowly through the streets and the occupants gave an incoherent story, after which the car was searched. When it was found explosively, the Explosives Clearance Service Defense (EOD) had to take action to secure it. The three men were then immediately arrested.
Two explosions a day later
After the arrest, the police started to surveillance in Purmerend. This could not prevent a day later two explosions took place in the De Gors district. The first explosion took place on Monday evening at a house on the Slenkstraat. A few hours later, after midnight there was also an explosive at a house on Kilstraat.
According to the police, it is unclear whether there is a connection between the explosions and the arrests.
