An explosive explodes at a beauty salon on Oosterstraat in Breda. The front door has been destroyed. The explosion took place around a quarter past five Saturday night. Local residents woke up with the hard bang.
The fire brigade pulled out with several vehicles. The affected building extends to the Verbeetenstraat. The fire brigade has smashed windows up to there to get the smoke out of the building as quickly as possible.
Weed nursery
Six houses above the beauty salon were evacuated by order of the fire brigade. As far as we know, no one would have been injured.
It is remarkable that a weed nursery was cleared in one of the spaces of the building last week. The containers with waste were still on the lawn. The police are investigating.
Suspect arrested
Shortly after the explosion, the police in the vicinity of Oosterstraat was able to arrest a 43-year-old man from Rijsbergen. He fled the moment the officers saw him. It is being investigated whether he has something to do with the explosion. He was taken to the police station.
