Heat protocol Four -day Festive Nijmegen is ready

The organization of the Four Days Marches has the heat protocol ready in case it will be very hot in the coming days. For the time being, temperatures are expected around 26 degrees. Organizer Joris Bouwmeester does not think it will be as hot as last year, when the mercury exceeded 30 degrees during the week. “A heat protocol is ready if it still comes to that.”

Last year the Four Days Marches took a total of between 1 and 1.2 million people. This year comparable numbers are expected with 150,000 to 200,000 visitors per evening, says Bouwmeester. The weekend days and Friday, the last day of the Four Days Marches, are often the most visited.

The Four Days Marches were officially opened at 4 p.m. on Koningsplein, including mayor Hubert Bruls. The festivities also started on the other stages at that time. In addition to performances, there are (sports) workshops, lectures and theater performances during the week. Sunday there is a fireworks show on the Waalkade.

There are numerous performances on the program. Emma Heesters, Marco Schuitmaker and Mart Hoogkamer perform on Matrixx Live on the Kade. In total there are more than a thousand acts, spread over forty stages.

To transport partygoers to and from Nijmegen, extra buses and trains run.
