Different groups of young people have been causing nuisance for weeks at De Diepsteeckel swimming pool in Someren. This season, fifteen access bans have already been distributed to nuisance young people. The Gemeentebad was closed for the past week and a half, the municipality now emphasizes that it had nothing to do with the nuisance.
The municipality will take extra measures from Thursday to prevent the nuisance. For example, street coaches are deployed and only a thousand visitors can enter with a day ticket. There is also a check for bags and employees can ask for a proof of identity in the event of inappropriate behavior or nuisance.
Not welcome all summer
The outdoor swimming pool is only open in the summer months. This season, the municipal bath is regularly burdened by the behavior of different groups of young people from the area. The municipality could not say what that nuisance entails on Thursday morning.
The fifteen young people who have received such a ban are no longer welcome at the swimming pool this entire summer.
Swimming pool was closed
The Diepsteeckel will open again for the first time in a week and a half on Thursday. The outdoor swimming pool was closed since Wednesday 2 July. According to the municipality due to a technical malfunction.
“Due to this technical malfunction, the water quality could no longer be guaranteed. Since then, various actions and repairs have been taken to get the water quality back to the desired level. This has succeeded, so we can open again on Thursday 10 July,” says a spokesperson for the municipality.
