Jota and his brother died tragically after their car went up in flames in northern Spain last week. The police reported on Tuesday after investigating that the car was probably driving too fast and that Jota was driving it. “Everything indicates a possible too high speed, higher than the maximum speed,” the police said.

A truck driver now claims that he saw the car on fire and the family assures that the brothers were not driving too fast. He tells that in a video in the hands of the Portuguese newspaper Funchal Notícias. “I filmed it, stopped, tried to help, but unfortunately I could do nothing,” said the eyewitness, who says he didn’t know who was in the car at that time.

Dangerous

The video came online after it became known that a 60-year-old female driver was seriously injured on the same road a few hours before the fatal accident. Her car got off the road, but she was taken out of the vehicle on time and taken to the hospital.

“The family has my word that they are not driving too loudly,” the truck driver continues in the video. “I could see the brand and color of the car. I drive every day on this road, from Monday to Saturday, I know which way it is and he is worthless,” he says in Portuguese.
