FC Augsburg makes use of its buyback option at Nathanaël Mbuku, but passes the 23 -year -old left wing again directly. Mbuku was switched to Dinamo Zagreb in accordance with the “Augsburger Allgemeine” at the beginning of the “Augsburg General”. The Fuggerstädter now apparently paid a sum of a similar height and initially hand over the offensive man to the Ligue-1 relegated HSC Montpellier on a loan.

The French can then commit Mbuku firmly – according to reports, this option becomes a duty if the return is succeeded. According to the newspaper, the FCA can take 2.5 million euros in this case. The Augsburgers had signed Mbuku in early 2023 free of charge from Stade Reims, in the meantime the left foot kicked for half a year at AS Saint-Étienne, where he was promoted to France’s Oberhaus.

“Nathanaël already had a very successful time in Ligue 2 and was able to contribute to the first division with his goals to rise from AS Saint-Étienne. When the opportunity for a change to France have now arisen, he came up with the wish to be able to take this opportunity. We wish him every success,” said FCA managing director Michael Ströll.

Mbuku said: “Unfortunately, the time at Dinamo Zagreb did not go as hoped. So I’m looking forward to the change back to France. In Montpellier I would like to play regularly and build on my previous performance.” In Zagreb he only came to 584 minutes of play, spread over 20 missions.
