Where Bayern’s replacement goalkeeper Daniel Peretz will play in the coming season is more open than ever. Is he now changing to a Bundesliga competitor?
The poker for the future of the Israeli national goalkeeper Daniel Peretz at FC Bayern is heading. The 24-year-old, who moved from Maccabi Tel Aviv to Munich in the summer of 2023 for five million euros, is said to leave the club during this transfer period to collect more game practice.
A promising rental business with PSV Eindhoven in the meantime recently failed due to different ideas about a purchase option. Instead, Eindhoven is now planning to commit Matej Kovar from Leverkusen. FC Copenhagen also showed interest in Peretz, but decided to commit the Croatian Dominik Kotarski.
So what’s next in the Peretz poker? Apparently an association that already seemed out of the race has turned on again. According to the “Bild”, Hamburger SV has expressed interest in an obligation by Peretz. Hamburg had already contacted the Munich in May – but at that time without success. The talks between the professional football director of the HSV, Claus Costa, and the area of Peretz have been resumed. However, the situation at the HSV is complicated on the goalkeeper position.
Because a possible switch to the HSV would not necessarily bring the chance of an undisputed regular place. At first she would only offer him the chance to go into the race as a challenger of regular keeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes (32). Hamburg’s current number two, Matho Raab (26), wants to leave the club, but at the moment he is still under contract with HSV. Questionable whether Peretz would actually get involved in this still opaque situation at the moment.
More sense for him could possibly switch to CFC Genoa from Italian series A. According to the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, negotiations with the player should already have progressed. However, there are also contradictory reports. According to the “Bild”, there is still no direct contact between those responsible.
FC Bayern Munich is preparing for a possible departure of Peretz. Jonas Urbig, which was moved from Cologne in Winter, is planned as an undisputed number two behind Stammentorupwehr Manuel Neuer. According to “Bild”, Hendrik Bonmann (31) is now under discussion as a possible third goalkeeper. The former goalkeeper of Borussia Dortmund and TSV 1860 Munich is currently playing at Ludogorets Razgrad.
Bavaria is also looking for a new replacement goalkeeper because Sven Ulreich will only be available to the record champion due to private problems as in the past few months in the coming season.
