Damon Albarn already knew in 2023 that Liam and Noel Gallagher will reconcile again and will be on stage again as an Oasis. He recently explained this in an interview with the Italian newspaper “IL Messagero”. At that time, Albarn said “The way was free” for reunification of Oasis. He would also even bet money that there would be a comeback.

“I was prophetic”
Albarn now tells that he was prophetic when he said that there was an Oasis reunion: “The Oasis reunion? Two years ago I was prophetic when I said that they would do it and that the way was just. Well, you cannot believe that two brothers cannot reconcile sooner or later. This is a good thing as I see it.”
However, it is probably excluded that he will look at one of the comeback concerts. He was “too busy”.
From rivals to friends
For many, it could be a surprise that the Blur front man deals with Oasis at all. After all, they were considered great rivals in the 1990s. At the latest when Roll With It was published by Oasis and Country House from Blur on the same day in 1995, the “Battle of Britpop” was opened. In the meantime, the waves seem to be smoothed. Since then, Albarn and Noel Gallagher have even been on stage together. Liam Gallagher also found nice words for Albarn in recent years. In 2022 he called him a “great songwriter”.
Do Blur go to the Oasis reunion?
Even if Damon Albarn himself will not make it into a concert from Oasis, his bandmates could look at one of the shows. Dave Rowntree, drummer from Blur, said in September 2024 that he was the first in line with a comeback. The Oasis Reunion is also something good for guitarist Graham Coxon that he would be happy about.
Bassist Alex James, however, said very openly: “I really won’t go there”. Nevertheless, he also sees the comeback as wonderful, he said in April 2025.
