On the AZ site, Addai indicates that it is very grateful for his Alkmaars years. “I not only played football at AZ, I was there as a player, but especially as a person. It was absolutely not an easy decision to leave AZ. In fact, it is one of the most difficult choices I have ever had to make.”
Double feeling
On behalf of AZ, technical director Max Huiberts indicates that it is a big compliment for youth academy, but that it also feels a bit double. “We would have preferred that he had stayed with AZ longer, but sometimes things come by that for an organization like AZ, in this case in consultation with Jayden, cannot be refused.”
