The three murderers of four Dutch journalists in 1982 in El Salvador have to go into jail for thirty years. The former top soldiers were sentenced to fifteen years in June. In the written judgment, the court clarifies that every punishment is actually sixty years, because there were four victims. The perpetrators have to be ‘only thirty years’, since that was the maximum punishment that the law imposed at the time, according to the victims’ lawyer, Gustavo Huezo.
