The non-profit organization for consumer goods Cascale-formerly the Sustainable Apparel Coalition-has appointed Harsh Saini an interim CEO. Saini, who is currently on the board of the organization, will take on the role from August 1, because Colin Browne resigns.

Saini was commissioned to lead Cascale through the most important strategic priorities for 2025. It should focus on the implementation and build on the foundations that were placed in 2024. The search for a permanent CEO continues in the meantime.

Saini has three decades of international management experience in the consumer goods sector. Before that, she worked in leading positions at the Fung Group and Nike. She is also represented on the board members of the Global Fashion Agenda, Puma and Wordly.

In a statement, Tamar Hoek, CEO of Cascale and Senior Policy Director for sustainable fashion at Solidaridad, said the appointment of Saini in a “critical implementation phase” of the company. “She knows our organization well, understands the landscape and brings both strategic vision and operational insights,” added Hoek.

Last year, under his new name, Cascale focused on “measurable, common progress in the entire global value chain of consumer goods”. The NGO, which works with more than 300 retailers: inside, brands, manufacturers: inside and other organizations, wants to expand joint measures towards “fair and restorative business practices”.
