Neil Young & The Chrome Hearts: Something from all creative phases
Young relied on a mix of songs from all creative phases: solo works, crazy horses and pieces from the Crosby-Stills-Nos-&-Young era. The setlist left little to be desired.
Neil Young: This is how the concert was
The concert was opened by Neil Young & The Chrome Hearts in Berlin with “Ambulance Blues”, followed by “Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)” in the electrical crazy Horse version. At the latest at “Be the Rain” it was clear that Young remained politically. Further highlights in the middle section: “Cinnamon Girl”, “Southern Man” (played live with The Chrome Hearts for the first time) and “Harvest Moon”. The regular set ended with “Old Man”. Young played “Rockin ‘in the Free World” as an encore. What was missing? His new album “Talkin to the Trees” – there was no single new song to be heard that evening.
