With Jan-Lennard Struff and Laura Siegemund, there are only two Germans in Wimbledon. For them there is now a cracker.

Two German hopes of hope in Wimbledon are fighting to move into the round of 16 – and are faced with a difficult task. Jan-Lennard Struff meets none other than defending champion Carlos Alcaraz from Spain on the Center Court. The encounter was not scheduled on Friday from 4 p.m. German time.

“Alcaraz – horny,” enthused the Sauerländer after moving into the third round at the classic lawn. “I’m looking forward to the match, maybe it will be Center (Court), that would be cool,” he said about the upcoming duel. The organizers fulfilled this wish – Struff and Alcaraz meet in the second game on Friday on the legendary place.

Laura Siegemund is also facing a heavy match. The 36-year-old has to deal with Madison Keys, who won the Australian Open in January. The start of the game is planned at the earliest at 1.30 p.m. German time.

Struff and Siegemund are the last remaining German individual starters at the classic lawn. Both have never reached the round of 16 at the Grand Slam tournament in their career.
