Race after race, McLaren is monopolizing the F1 world championship thanks to Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. A net dominion, made of eight wins and three braces in 11 world championship rounds: eloquent numbers. The British team aims to defend the scepter among the teams, but above all to recover the pilot title that has been missing since 2008, when Lewis Hamilton triumphed. Just that magical season has become the inspiration for the “Chrome” livery, used during the Great Britain GP, in Silverstone. On the one hand, the link with the Google sponsor is remarked; On the other hand, however, McLaren recalls its past hoping to build an equally full of satisfaction future.

the colors

The special livery was presented yesterday in London, during the “McLaren Racing Live” event. The Papaya color confirmed: the light orange is inserted on the rear hat and on the front area of the MCL39, immediately after the racing of the pilot. This time, however, here is the silver, dominant on the front, along the sides and in the engine area. A reference to the silver livery used between 2007 and 2013 and above all to the 2008 MP4-23, with which Hamilton won the World Cup. In the same season Lewis also conquered the Great Britain GP. Not a simple victory, but a real triumph, trimming sidereal detachments in the rain. Since that year McLaren has never set himself up to Silverstone. The Woking team hopes to stop this fasting too. The pilots, on the other hand, will wear black suits.

the event

Louise Mcewen, McLaren Racing’s marketing director, tells why he considers this livery special: “We know that while millions of fans follow the McLaren team of Formula 1 for decades, millions more have recently discovering this sport and the team. Being able to celebrate and show our long history through the Chrome colors is a fantastic way to bring these new enthusiasts to us with us”. Adrienne Lofton, vice-president of the global product and Google’s integrated marketing, adds: “We are proud to collaborate with McLaren to reveal the famous Chrome Livrea in Trafalgar Square”. He continues: “Google Chrome offers unparalleled speeds and performances of McLaren and consumers from all over the world. We are pleased to help bring the energy of the paddock to the fans in view of the Great Britain GP in Silverstone”.
