At the latest after his top services in the jersey of the German U21 national team at the successful European Championship in Slovakia, striker Nick Woltemade from VfB Stuttgart was on everyone’s lips.
Even FC Bayern is now said to be on the striker, most recently heated discussions in public have already been conducted about a possible transfer fee for Woltemade – also cheered on by the officials of the Munich. The coaching legend Felix Magath has expressed his own opinion.
Basically, Felix Magath considers it a “strategically correct decision” that FC Bayern is trying to make a young, German player who recently made the leap into the German national football team and could shape the coming years.
However, the 71-year-old reported his doubts about “Sky” whether Nick Woltemade already had the qualities to be able to prevail at FC Bayern.
“I don’t know whether a player who played a Bundesliga season is already so far. This is again a question that will then be held on the coach’s back, whether and how he can incorporate him. I am excited to see what it goes out,” said Magath, who remembered that the 23-year-old did not really work at his first Bundesliga station Werder Bremen. There he had only scored two goals in 50 competitive players and was even even awarded to SV Elversberg in the 2nd Bundesliga.
Magath formulated concerns about Woltemade
Only in the past season did he make the big breakthrough after moving to VfB Stuttgart, with 17 goals in 33 games ballasted into the notebooks of numerous top European teams.
Felix Magath has not yet impressed this sustainably, as he emphasized: “What is about the player is of course a hype that goes to reality.”
Rather, the long -time Bundesliga player and coach announced his doubts that the form curve of the native Bremer will continue so steeply: “He is not yet a finished player. My concern would be that he would be stressed by all this hype somewhere, also mentally stressed, things will not be properly classified and will have difficulty keeping the next season constant.”
