The farewell to Rayan Philippe is finally fixed. In the storm of Eintracht Braunschweig, a large gap is now being placed. And yet at the BTSV you can see positive things in the transfer.

Because, despite the long lead time of the transfer, it is clear: the beating of the striker tears a large gap into the structure of the BTSV. In the past season alone, the 24 -year -old Frenchman shot a total of 14 competitive goals – by far most of all Braunschweiger. And that for a harmony that only escaped the relegation into the third class in the relegation.

In total, he scored 22 goals in 63 games for the BTSV and increased its market value from 500,000 to 3.5 million euros during his time. Accordingly, the bitter loss at Eintracht also swings a little proud of the development of the striker, who came to Germany as a blank leaf in 2023.

At the latest, the words of sports managing director Benjamin Kessel make it clear: “It is said to be our way to develop highly rated players, to give them playing time and ideally generate transfer revenues at the right time,” he says. “Rayan Philippe’s transfer is an excellent example of how we can do that.”

For weeks, the BTSV and the HSV had filed for the transfer fee. In the end, it was said to be between 2.5 and three million euros. According to the data portal “Transfermarkt.de”, it is the third -party departure of the Braunschweig club history. With any bonus payments, he could even climb in second place.

And so it is also clear that a special player leaves the club with Philippe. “In terms of sport, he has enriched our team extremely in the past two years and scored important goals for us,” says Kessel. You didn’t want to install the leap into the Bundesliga and have now found a “good solution” with the HSV.

Kessel’s farewell is therefore conciliatory: “We thank Rayan for his services to our harmony and wish him a lot of success and all the best,” said the BTSV boss. “We are glad that he had the right framework with us to recommend himself for the Bundesliga.”

The first warm farewell words come from the team on Wednesday morning. “Thank you, my brother. I will be missing,” writes goalkeeper Ron-Thorben Hoffmann in French in his Instagram story.

And the HSV also knows about the qualities of the newcomer. “Tempo, depth and risk of scoring,” he brings with him, says director Sport Claus Costa. HSV board member Stefan Kuntz sees Philippe a “essential factor” for the relegation of Eintracht and is looking forward to working with the fast offensive man.

Just like Philippe himself, which the leap in particular appealed to the upper house. “The HSV has a big story and is now back in the Bundesliga, which I am looking forward to,” said the striker. “And I am already looking forward to the first home game in front of my own fans, I have finally been able to experience the atmosphere in the Volkspark Stadium.”
