Jannik Sinner booked the ticket for the second round at this year’s tennis tournament in Wimbledon in the urgent procedure. The Italian won his opening match on Tuesday against compatriot Luca Nardi in three sets with 6: 4, 6: 3 and 6: 0. In the second round he now meets the Australian Aleksandar Vukic.
Sinner, who had only played the tournament in Halle in the preparation of the lawn after his dramatic final defeat in Paris in the lawn preparation and had already failed in the round of 16 at the later winner Alexander Budikr. The South Tyrolean acted concentrated, wide awake and was superior to its opponent in all matters.
Third set with 6-0
Sinner secured the first set with a decisive break 6: 4, the second with two breaks with 6: 3. At some point, opponent Nardi no longer knew how he was able to offer the playful all -rounder Sinner slogan – and gave up early in the third round. The third set was consequently enormously quick, in the end it was 6-0 for the favorite. Overall, Sinner did not need two hours for his victory.
In contrast to his great opponent Carlos Alcaraz, who tortured himself in Wimbledon on the opening day for a five -set victory over Fabio Fognini in more than four and a half hours, the southern Italian saved strength and time in the heat of London. A fact that could still pay off in the further course of the tournament.
