Alexander Zverev’s first round game at Wimbledon Grand Slam tournament will only end on Tuesday. The Hamburg’s game against the Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech was interrupted on Monday evening (June 30th, 2025) at 6: 7 (3: 7) and 7: 6 (10: 8) from the perspective of the German at short time before 11 p.m. due to a night’s sleep in London.

After the long game between Carlos Alcaraz and Fabio Fognini, which played more than four and a half hours on the Center Court, the match only started at 8.43 p.m. local time. After a somewhat tentative start to the game, Zverev was actually the better player in the first set, but could not use any of his five break balls. The southern French then won the due tie -break.

Zverev gets the second tiebreak

In the second sentence, the Hamburger noticed the slightly greater uncertainty due to the lost first sentence, and opponents Rinderknech always played great. At 4: 5, the Hamburger had to fend off a set ball with his own serve, but then made it into the second tie -break of the evening.

The decision in the second set then developed into a high -tensioning exchange of blows. Neither of the two opponents could settle, in the end Zverev finally had the better end with 10: 8. With 1: 1 sets on Tuesday, both continue for both.
