According to NH-Weerman Jan Visser, it can be 34 degrees locally tomorrow. Due to the high humidity, it can therefore feel ‘oppressively warm’. The municipality then decided to cancel the first evening cheese market of the year.
This is mainly due to the work of the cheese carriers. At such high temperatures it is not recommended to make heavy physical exertion. According to the municipality, the decision is supported by the cheese producers, the cheese carriers guild and other partners involved.

Every Tuesday evening in July and August there is an evening cheese market on the Waagplein in Alkmaar.
