Trump: US will not tolerate corruption process against Netanyahu
US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that the United States will not tolerate a further corruption process against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Netanyahu was sued in 2019 for bribery, fraud and violation of trust. In 2020, a lawsuit against him started that revolves around three corruption cases. The case has been delayed in Gaza because of the war, but on Friday a court in Jerusalem ruled that the Prime Minister, who again asked for a postponement, will soon have to testify in the case.
On his Truth Social Canal, Trump states that the testimonials will disrupt the negotiations of Netanyahu with Hamas and Iran, and calls it “a political witch hunt” that the prime minister must take a seat in the witness bank. “The United States of America spend billions of dollars a year, much more than any other nation, to protect and support Israel. We are not going to tolerate this,” said Trump.
