Stéphane V. was sentenced by the West-Flemish Assisenhof to 25 years of imprisonment for the murder of Ilir Sumaj (28). The Frenchman from Nieuwpoort shot his son -in -law in July 2022 along the IJzer in Diksmuide. The defense had proposed 15 years of imprisonment, but the court and the jury followed the claim of the Public Prosecution Service.
