Last competition, last gold medal: The two-time judo world champion Anna-Maria Wagner has said goodbye to sporting retirement with a title. The most successful German judoka of the past few years won the military World Cup in Warendorf on Thursday and was then celebrated extensively.
The 29-year-old Wagner prevailed against the Polish Beata Pacut-Kloczko in the final and shone again as usual. Wagner had become world champion in the class up to 78 kg in 2021 and 2024.
In mid -June, she no longer competed in the title defense in Budapest, the 22 -year -old Anna Monta Olek from Hanover won silver and has already established herself as the successor.
