EM host loses test against male U15

The Swiss selection loses a secret test game before the EM start. However, the association classifies the result as part of an intensive preparation program.

Around a week before the start of the home European Championship, the Swiss team of women played an unofficial friendly. In the not publicly announced game, the selection of national coach Pia Sundhage met the U15 team of FC Luzern and lost 1: 7. The game was played over three times 30 minutes.

Alayah Pilgrim (AS Rome) achieved the meantime 1: 3 from Switzerland. Like the Alisha Lehmann, known in social media, she was seen in a now deleted Tikok video that showed excerpts of the game. Sundhage prevailed on the square a total of 26 players and dragged it through.

Such games against male youth teams are not a novelty, the Swiss Football Association emphasized at the request of the Swiss newspaper “Blick”. Media spokesman Sven Micossé explained: “The goal: to provide a certain competitive factor. The focus of this phase of preparation is on the physical aspect. Dious to the result, these training games come very close to our international matches in terms of intensity and mileage.”

The encounter against Lucerne should not have been the only test in the run -up to the European Championship. The team had previously played against other U15 teams: Against the U15 of FC Solothurn, a 1-2 set against the U15 of FC Biel, a 2-1 success was achieved.
