According to a media report, Borussia Mönchengladbach is targeting two players from Bundesliga relegated Holstein Kiel. One of the two transfer candidates will certainly remain with the storks in the coming season.
Attacker Alexander Bernhardsson von Holstein Kiel has moved into the Gladbach transfer focus according to “Bild” information-but there is no change in summer. Kiel’s managing director Sport Olaf Rebbe immediately made this clear to the tabloid.
“We are pleased that Holstein Kiel players are so popular, that is also an award for the good work that has been and will be done in this club. But in the case of Alexander Bernhardsson, the matter is very simple and clear: We will definitely not hand it over, nobody has to make the effort,” said Rebbe: “He is firmly planned for the coming season.”
The Swede came to Schleswig-Holstein from IF Elfsborg in January 2024, in his first Bundesliga season he scored seven goals in 19 games. The 26-year-old also provided three templates.
Does Shuto Machino move to Gladbach?
Bernhardsson had been thrown back twice by several weeks in the past season. The flexible attacker then had his best phase in the league closing sprint: the triple international was directly involved in seven goals in the last seven games.
Meanwhile, Holstein Kiel is ready to talk to top scorer Shuto Machino, who, according to media reports, will also be courted by the Gladbacher Borussia. “There are several inquiries at Shuto Machino, but a decision has not yet been made,” said Rebbe.
“Image” estimates the transfer fee of over six million euros. His contract runs in Kiel like that of Bernhardsson until 2027.
