The German basketball professional Isiah Hartenstein and his teammates of the Oklahoma City Thunder celebrated the title win in the NBA on Tuesday with a gigantic parade through the city.

According to police, more than half a million people came to see their stars, who brought the trophy to Oklahoma for the first time.

The Canadian Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the most valuable player of the NBA finals, called for the viewers: “Never forget that! Moments like this do not occur as often.”

The bus parade ran across Oklahoma. In the meantime, the players took time, clapped the fans and even handed over the trophy to some supporters. The celebrations followed the highlight of the season last Sunday, in which the Thunder had prevailed in the seventh game of the final series with 103: 91 against the Indiana Pacers.

Hartenstein (27) is the second German NBA master according to Dirk Nowitzki (2011). The 2.13 m man played his first season in Oklahoma. He came from New York last year. The Thunder only played in Oklahoma since 2008, previously the franchise in Seattle (Supersonics) was native.
