The tunnel comes under the Rijksweg, at the intersection with Honzebrouckstraat and Beverenstraat. The intersection itself also gets traffic lights.
Preparations take the construction leave, and the real works start in August. The traffic nuisance would be better than expected, the exit to Beverenstraat was immediately closed. The works cost 7 million euros.
Roads and traffic pays the majority, but also the province and the municipality of Hooglede contribute.
