Hamburger SV has secured the services of a promising goalkeeper. The 17-year-old Fernando Dickes comes to the Elbe from Leipzig.

“With his modern and balanced goalkeeper game and his very good physical prerequisites, Fernando brings extremely interesting systems with him,” said sports director Claus Costa about the German U18 international.

“I look forward to being able to develop at the HSV and can hardly wait for it to start,” said Dickes. In Hamburg, he is supposed to train with the professionals and collect play practice in the young teams of the “red pans”.

The 1.93 meter -tall goalkeeper moved from Halle FC to Leipzig in 2020 and most recently stood in the U19 between the posts. Last season he played 26 competitive games, including four missions in the UEFA Youth League. In the Champions League he was already in the professional squad of the Saxons.

The election as the new president of Hamburger SV has been decided after only one pass. With 65.71 percent of the vote, Henrik Köncke was elected as the new President of HSV EV, the association said in his live ticker.

According to the club, he prevailed against the other two candidates at a clear distance. Kai Esselgroth received 29 percent of the vote, Frank Ockens just over five percent.

Almost 1200 of the total of a total of 127,000 members took part in the election. Beach volleyball Olympic champion Laura Ludwig was elected as the sole candidate with just more than 90 percent of the vote as Vice President.

CFO Eric Huwer previously announced an economically positive news: “The net financial liabilities at the end of this financial year are zero. For the first time in the documented history I know, HSV is therefore free of debt,” said the 41-year-old of the almost 1400 voters. Despite the pandemic, the relegation in 2018 in the 2nd league and the personnel rochade in the past seven to eight years, the club has reduced net financial liabilities of 75 million euros.

The members of the Hamburger SV vote on a new presidium on Saturday. Three candidates are at the meeting, which begins in the Volksparkstadion from 10 a.m. The HSV offers one for all those who stayed at home Live ticker to.

Kai Esselsgroth, the chairman of the Honorary Council, member of the supervisory board Henrik Köncke and entrepreneur Frank Ockens apply for the post. You can find out more about the candidates here. Incumbent Marcell Jansen had decided not to start election again after more than seven years as HSV president.

Olympic champion Laura Ludwig and the deputy chairwoman of honor Anna Stöcken are running for the offices of the vice presidents. Ralph Hartmann and Michael Papenfuß face the election as treasurer.

The election had triggered discussions in advance – especially because of Felix Magath, which was not approved by the association’s advisory board. According to the committee, the former HSV professional showed too little interest in popular sports and wanted to concentrate on professional football instead.

The decision of the advisory board caused criticism in parts of the followers. As the “picture” reported, some fans even want to face the vote – as long as the Causa Magath has not been legally clarified. Apparently they demand to suspend the election for the time being. However, the hurdle for this is high.
