Holstein Kiel has reported his ninth newcomer this summer. Stefan Schwab comes from Greece from Paok Thessaloniki to the north of Germany. After the end of his contract, the 34 -year -old midfielder will change free of charge and will in future take the role of the adopted Lewis Holtby as the leader on and next to the square. He signed a one -year contract with the option for an extension.
For Schwab it is the first stop in Germany. The Austrian spent the longest of his career in his home country before moving him to Greece in 2020, where he was recently captain of the team. At that time, the sports director at PAOK was called Olaf Rebbe, who now committed him to KSV’s sports director a second time. Schwab contributed 34 goals and 23 templates for Thessaloniki in 241 games, he also contained exactly as many for SK Rapid Vienna (51 hits and assists each).
“Stefan is an enormously experienced and at the same time very hungry and ambitious player,” said Rebbe: “He can help our midfield center aggressively and defensively and has a very dangerous left foot. We trust Stefan, on the square and in the cabin, to take a leadership role immediately and to contribute with his experience to guide our young squad.”

Schwab explained: “I was shown a clear plan and an exciting perspective in the conversations with those responsible. Holstein has a young team with a lot of potential and has not made a name for itself in the past season with its dynamic and offensive playing.
