Borussia Dortmund booked the first victory at the World Cup for clubs. In the second group match, the team of coach Niko Kovac won 4-3 against Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa and thus took over the leading position in the group.
The team from the South African capital Pretoria had won the first game against Ulsan Hyundai FC from South Korea. Mamelodi also took the lead against the Germans via Lucas Ribeiro, but Eg Recovered through hits from Felix Nmecha, Serhou Guirassy and Jobe Bellingham.
