The 27-year-old goalkeeper was finally taken over in the summer of last year by the people of Bruges of Oud-Heverlee Leuven, after he was already working on a lending basis in the Jan Breydel Stadium for a season. Jackers was initially achieved as Doublure from Monument Simon Mignolet, but managed to replace the former Red Devil with verve several times. Both last season and a year earlier, he excelled during the play-offs in the Bruges goal, after Mignolet was always injured. In the meantime, it is quite possible that the Limburger will take the step to the first goalkeeper at Club Brugge in the future. The 37-year-old Mignolet has another agreement for one season in West Flanders.
As icing on the cake, Jackers was first called up for the Red Devils at the beginning of this month, after Thibaut Courtois had injured the World Cup qualification matches against North Macedonia and Wales.
