Strong performance from Kämna
More than a year after his severe training session, the former Tour-de-France-Tappei winner Lennard Kämna is getting going better and better. The 28-year-old went to eighth place on the royal stage of the Tour de Suisse and thus continues to finish fifth in the overall ranking.
Kämna was hit by a car in training in Tenerife in April 2024 and suffered injuries to the upper body and lungs. It was only in March of this year that the former junior world champion got back into the racing events on the tour of the Catalonia. Kämna, who already won stages on the tour, the Giro and the Vuelta, only now did the first top ten placement.
Single time trial will decide
The Tour de Suisse ends on Sunday with the individual time trial from Beckenried to Stockhütte. On Friday, on the sixth stage to Neuhausen am Rheinfall, two mountains of the second category will take place before the terrain then becomes flatter.
