The German soccer player Florian Wirtz has apparently flown to his new sporting home of England.

According to the “Bild” newspaper, the private plane at Cologne Airport took off at 4:33 p.m. to bring the 22-year-old to Manchester. The boulevard leaf showed photos of the terminal.

From Manchester, Wirtz is to be driven to Liverpool, where the mandatory medical check for the record transfer to Liverpool is to take place on Friday. The “Bild” also published photos of the arrival at the airport in Cologne.

If there is no unexpected problems, nothing stands in the way of changing the offensive star of Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen to the English champion. Other media had also reported the medical check this Friday.

Wirtz transfer an expensive pleasure

Both clubs have long since agreed on a transfer package that, according to media reports, can include up to 150 million euros, including fixed amounts and bonus payments.

Wirtz would be the most expensive transfer in the Bundesliga and Premier League history. Only for the two strikers Neymar and Kylian Mbappé did Paris Saint-Germain have paid two even higher transfer fees so far.

Wirtz should sign a contract with the Reds by 2030. In addition to Liverpool, other top European clubs were also interested in him. FC Bayern in particular had given great hopes for an obligation by the coveted professional, but received a cancellation.
