After a false start at the European Championship under 21, the Dutch Juniors still qualified for the quarterfinals of the country tournament. The team of coach Michael Traveler beat the peers of Ukraine 2-0 in the third group duel, so that the Netherlands has reached the knock-out phase as number two in Group D behind group winner Denmark.
