The preparatory works start on Monday, June 23. Then the central reservation of the R32 is adjusted and the cycle path on the north side is broken up and again asphalted.
The works have two large phases. Phase 1 will start from August with the redevelopment of Honzebrouckstraat and the construction of the southern part of the bicycle tunnel. Part of the R32 towards Ardooie is also being renewed to be able to shift the traffic in the next phase. When the first half of the tunnel is ready, the traffic is temporarily shifted to construct the second half. Phase 2 starts from May 2026 for the construction of the northern part of the bicycle tunnel on the side of Hooglede.
