The accident happened just before eleven this morning on the Duinenstraat, near the Ploegstraat. The man had ended up under a bus and was trapped. With a jack from a local resident, an attempt was made to free the victim, but all the help came too late.
The circumstances of the accident are still unclear. The public prosecutor of West Flanders has already appointed an expert to investigate the cause.
