There are several roads to Laren closed for traffic so that the care providers have enough room to extinguish the fire. The entire street around the house is closed and is full of fire engines. The access roads to Laren from the A27 are also closed to give emergency services the space.
Two NL-Alert sent out, surrounding buildings and high school evacuated
A lot of smoke is released during the fire. That is why the fire brigade sent an NL-Alert at 12.25 pm. Local residents are advised to stay out of the smoke, close windows and doors and eliminate mechanical ventilation. A second NL-Alert followed shortly before half past one.
Houses in the immediate vicinity of the fire have been evacuated. The residents are being taken care of temporarily, the safety region reports. Due to the smoke development that draws over Laren, High School College De Brink – a few blocks away – has also been evacuated.
Damage is large
The fire has caused considerable damage to the building. Images show that a large part of the roof has gone up in flames. The windows of the house have also jumped.
