A cyclist was seriously injured in Emmen this morning. At the intersection of the Hondsrugweg with Noordbargerstraat, the victim was scooped by a car. This happened just after eleven.
According to witnesses, the victim then fell hard on the road surface. Due to the accident, various ambulances arrived. A trauma team also came to Emmen with the trauma helicopter.
The cyclist was taken to a hospital. The intersection is closed for the time being. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
