René van der Gijp is back from his vacation in the South of France, as always with a tan, but this time half of his laundry. “They just said ‘not found’ to me.”
René van der Gijp’s wife has chosen a nice hotel for their holiday in the South of France. The today Inside star was ready for a carefree trip and the two therefore stayed in a very expensive accommodation. And despite that very chic hotel and the service that should be exceptional, Gijp has lost half of his clothing there.
Not found
René is not a big fan of southern France. “I think Greece is a very nice holiday country. I think the South of France is not unkind and yet: it is a bit of a crazy region. For example, I had that I had my things washed in the hotel. Then I am just in a good hotel. Then let your things wash in the hotel and half will come back.”
The rest of his wardrobe is just stolen by someone. He continues in the podcast Kieftjansenegmondgijp: “I say to that reception: I only have half of my clothes back. Then they said,” Well, then we will call if that other half is found. ” And then after half an hour at breakfast someone comes and says, “Didn’t find it.”
Underpants
Michel van Egmond, the writer of the book Gijp, is shocked. He says: “But now someone is walking over the boulevard in Cannes in your underpants?”
René: “Apparently, yes. That can’t be otherwise.”
He doesn’t like that French mentality at all. He concludes: “I was eating at those boats in Saint-Tropez. At those boats. And then you’re eating there, so I say to that woman:” Put me a second bottle of wine, “so she puts it in and puts the bill right away. Yes, I think that’s all very special. It is very special people …”
