Not every intervention leads to a transport with the helicopter. In 2024, just over 100 patients were effectively transported. In addition, the helicopter was remarkably often canceled after a first call: 108 times, compared to 64 cancellations the previous year. “That is because during the first minutes of an emergency call it sometimes appears that a bet is no longer necessary,” Himpe explains.
Also in 2025 the MUG helicopter will continue to use intensively: until the end of April there were already 353 interventions and 30 cancellations.
