For a 12 year old boy, the police can no longer be broken in his hometown. The boy was bullied in such a way that he did not dare to come out for a few weeks. When he had gathered the courage to do this again, he came across his bullies and panicked so that he no longer knew where he lived. The police brought the boy at home and then kept in touch with him and his parents through the local police officer.

On Saturday the boy came along with his parents, among others, at the desk. “We spoke with him and made agreements,” writes Helmond Police on Instagram. However, it didn’t stop there. The boy got ‘of course’ a tour of the desk with his family.

And the latter was well received, according to the report from the police. “It did well to us to see him shine,” she writes. With this action, the agents hope to have given enough self -confidence to go outside again.

One thing is certain: the Helmond police have a fan with it.

What if you are bullied?

When the police have placed with the permission of the boy and his parents, the police indicate what you can do when you are bullied. Talking to someone you trust is the first step, she says.

“This can be a parent, a friend, a brother or sister, a mentor, a teacher or a sports coach. Find someone with whom you feel safe and choose a moment when you can talk about this.”
