The dispute between the DFB Cup winner VfB Stuttgart and his jerseys have escalated. The Bundesliga club filed a lawsuit on Friday at the civil chamber of the Stuttgart Regional Court.

The betting provider Winamax “hired all payments” from the contract as the main sponsor “in spring 2025, the club said on its homepage. The company also “made no payments on numerous reminders”, so the outstanding amounts were sued.

The contract expires on June 30th. But already at the cup final against the third division club Arminia Bielefeld (4: 2), VfB had dispensed with the advertising of the French betting provider and played for the first time with the logo of the new main sponsor Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW).

Winamax then spoke of “a clear violation of our contractually agreed cooperation”.

Contrary to the clear request of the company, the club already announced the new partnership with the LBBW in early September 2024.

At that time, the Swabians had announced that the LBBW would be the main and jerseys of the association from the 2025/26 season to at least 2028. This led to “we were able to carry out our contractually granted rights only to a limited extent,” said Winamax. Previously, VfB had been criticized for working with Winamax at its own fans.
