On June 15th, the amateur teams in particular look spellbound to Dortmund. Because there the 1st main round is drawn in the DFB Cup. Everything you need to know.
When and where is drawing?
The draw of the first main round starts on Sunday, June 15th, from 5.15 p.m. in the German Football Museum in Dortmund.
Who pulls the lots?
Germany’s fastest man turns into the “Losfee” in the DFB Cup: Owen, who was the first German to crack the sound barrier of ten seconds (9.99), will draw the games. DFB Vice President Peter Frymuth is there as a drawing manager.
The Sprinter Owen viewed from Hamburger SV wins the German championship over 100 meters with a German record.
How is drawing?
There are a total of 64 clubs. There are two solder pots. In the first, the teams that ended up in places 15 to 18 in the past season of the 2nd Bundesliga, the four best teams in the 3rd division 2024/25 and the 24 representatives of the state associations.
In the second pot there are the 18 Bundesliga clubs and the 14 best -placed second division teams of the 2024/25 season.
The teams from the first lottery are also pulled first and have home rights.
The defending champion is VfB Stuttgart, who prevailed 4-2 against Arminia Bielefeld in May in May.

Yes, the draw can be seen live on ZDF and in the ZDF media library.
When does the first main round take place?
The first DFB Cup round is scheduled for 15 to 18 August. Master Bayern Munich and defending champion VfB Stuttgart, however, only enter the competition on August 26 or 27. Both teams will play around the Franz Beckenbauer Cup (formerly Supercup) in Stuttgart on August 16.
Are the appointments for the other rounds already fixed?
Yes. The second main round is for the 28th/29. October scheduled, the round of 16 for the 2nd/3. December 2025. If you are still there, you can in the quarter -finals on 3rd/4th and 10./11. February 2026 again. The semi -finals rise on 21/22. April and the final will kick off in Berlin on May 23, 2026.
Berlin is the goal. The final will take place again on May 23.
