“The Last Showgirl” tells the story of Shelly, a long -time stage dancer in Las Vegas, whose career ends unexpectedly after three decades. That from the “Razzle Dazzle Show” marks a deep cut for them. She begins to reflect on her past and is looking for contact with her alienated daughter Hannah.
Directed by Gia Coppola, member of the well-known Coppola family. Her grandfather Francis Ford Coppola is known, among other things, for films such as “Apocalypse Now” and “The Godfather”. Her aunt Sofia Coppola last published the Biopic “Priscilla” in 2024. Pamela Anderson, who was awarded a Golden Globe in early 2025 in early 2025, takes the main role.
The film was premiered as part of the Toronto International Film Festival 2024. The ensemble also includes Jamie Lee Curtis (“Everyension Every Autom”), Dave Bautista (“Guardians of the Galaxy”), Brenda Song (“The Social Network”) and Billie Lourd (“Star Wars: Episoden VII – IX”). “The Last Showgirl” has been digitally available since May 29 and was released on June 12th on DVD and Blu-ray.
