The pilgrim route owes its name to the succession of holy locations along the route. After the start in the Grote Kerk of Alkmaar, the walkers continue their way along the Sint-Josephkerk.

Other holy locations that meet the walkers at the different distances include the Slotkapel, the Abbey of Egmond, the Ter Coulsterkerk, the Corneliuskerk, Willibrordus estate, Onze Lieve Vrouwe ter Nood and the Witte Kerk.
