You know the second spring. Silver surfers jump around everywhere. And 60 is the new 40. But Van Morrison puts it all again in the shade. In August the Irishman turns 80, but on his 47th album it sounds as fresh as it hasn’t been for a long time.
As bad as the spotted cover is, the title Remembering Now fits so well, because songs like the Ray Charles’ “if it wasn’t for ray” or the global hymn “Loved and Beloved” actually remind of Moondance times, and “When the Rains Came” would not be extremely uncomfortable.
Yes, of course, the baritone voice rumbles and grumbles as profoundly, the heights are not as high for a long time, but like Morrison shakes a creak, but still catchy Soulhite after the next, is still heavily impressive. The old man looks like fresh from the fresh cell cure, and almost forgot some strange experiment and one or the other publication full of unnecessary filling material. That is probably the fourteenth spring or something.
