New Delhi (dpa-AfX)-Air India passenger aircraft has crashed in western India. Many people die. What is known so far – and what is not.
What we know
* Victim: Almost all people on the plane died in the crash. 241 people on board were killed, the airline Air India said on the news platform X. A passenger survived the accident and was treated in a hospital. How many people were killed in a residential area on the ground when the machine crashed was initially unclear. The police initially spoke of a total of 40 injuries.
* Crash: According to media reports, the plane crashed shortly after departure near the airport of the city of Ahmedabad. In photos you can see debris between buildings and in a building.

* Location: Ahmedabad is located in western India and is one of the largest cities in the country. 5.6 million people lived there in the 2011 census.

* Cause: why the plane crashed is unclear.
* Victim: How many people as a whole have died through the accident has not yet been known.
* Airplane: According to “Flightradar24”, the eleven year old Boeing 787-8 was planned for the flight with the label VT-ANB-this detail was not officially confirmed at first. The Dreamliner should start at 1:10 p.m. and land in London at 6:25 p.m.
